Life classically balanced. That is the motto at Spa Mirbeau & Inn located in Skaneateles, NY. Nestled in this quaint town is a spa and inn that resembles a French chateau and makes you feel like you are in another world. Zen, balance, relaxation, good food and wine-a few things I think we can all agree are needed in life right now. Well I am here to share my review, my tips, and even help answer any of your trip planning questions! Read below and be sure to follow me on @seeyouatthespa on instagram for more pictures and many more trips like this!

Spa Mirbeau is a place to recharge, relax, and practice self-care. Whether it's by attending one of their fitness classes (one of them being a guided meditation by the lake), getting a spa treatment, or just enjoying some good wine and laughter with loved ones there is something for everyone. I was able to do all this and with a one night stay and most importantly it was in a safe way!

Safety at Spa Mirbeau & Inn:

In these times I think talking about safety practices is important. When you are going away you don't want to feel anxious or nervous about whether or not the place you are going to is following the current regulations. Spa Mirbeau had wellness stations at each entrance that included a questionnaire, temperature checks, and sanitizer. Everyone wore a mask everywhere. In the spa you were limited to only one person or family in certain areas and the best part is part of the spa amenities are outside which helped make me feel at ease. Along with the safety I must note the staff was super friendly and accommodating.

Atmosphere and the Grounds:

Imagine opening up your patio door to a rose garden, beautiful ponds, and a complete feeling of serenity. For reference the inn focuses on a monet painting vibe and that is truly what you get. From the roses to the walking bridge it is truly a unique experience. The atmosphere is relaxed....even so relaxed you can walk around the grounds in your complimentary robe as you go from your room to the spa. You can even wear your robe to breakfast and lunch. That is what was so cool about Mirbeau is you can come and go from the spa as you wish-you have full access! The interior of the inn and spa transforms you to a castle and is victorian and cozy. Lots of fireplaces, chairs to curl up with a book, a beautiful spa and bistro and wine bar to top it off.

Accommodations:

This was a girls trip for me, my mom, and sister so we stayed in a room with two double beds. Our room (and each room) has a fireplace, a shower and bath tub, complimentary robes and slippers, and the Mirbeau collection body products. Our room also had a patio which I would recommend for summer and fall months. We were able to open our patio door and see the beautiful grounds and had own little rose garden. We even ate breakfast on our patio the next day (of course in our robes). Mirbeau has rooms all through out the grounds some are in the Main Inn like ours, and some are within walking or even driving distance. I did like the Main Inn because the spa is on the bottom floor so we could easily walk down to it. Also the restaurant and wine bar are right there too. This made everything really easy to come and go to.

Spa:

Here we go with my favorite part and the reason for this blog. The moment you walk into the spa you smell eucalyptus and you know right away that this is going to be a relaxing experience. When you arrive at the spa after you wellness check you are given a robe, sandals, and your own personal locker. They give you complimentary water and towels. It's important to note if you are staying at the inn you have full access to the spa both days or however many days you are staying-you don't have to have an additional spa service to use the spa. Inside the locker room they have changing rooms, a sauna, a steam room, and showers. Outside of the locker rooms is the quiet lounge room. In the lounge room the lighting is soft and quiet. There is a fireplace and foot soaking tub. You can soak your feet and relax feeling very calm. Outside the spa is a hot tub, grand fireplace, and the cutest little Aqua Bar (very French Alps vibe). You can order drinks and they bring them right to you! For a while the three of us were the only ones sitting outside so we enjoyed some quality time, had cocktails and relaxed. For my service I got the signature pedicure. This included a honey foot mask that was amazing! It included warm towels and a foot massage. My mom got the same thing and my sister got a massage which she said was amazing as well. The products in the spa and in the room all were spa inspired and included scents like lavender, chamomile, and one of my favorites bergamot.

Food and Drinks:

We ate dinner outside on the patio and had amazing food and wine. The menu is not huge but everything is very fresh and farm to table. I had mushroom tortellini that was amazing and we had a cheese plate and oysters. The red wine I had was great as well and after we ate we each got a different dessert. Mine was a sandie brownie with a chocolate dome and homemade caramel poured over-it was amazing!! After dinner we sat inside (with masks on) by a fireplace for a couple of minutes. For breakfast the next day we ordered room service and had it on our patio. The breakfast menu had lots of traditional options as well as unique items like my honey and ricotta crepes. My sister and I shared a french press coffee too. This was my first time having it and I really enjoyed it.

After enjoying our time at the spa and inn we visited downtown for some shopping. Skaneateles offers a cute downtown on the water. A great place to stroll on a Fall day. To finish off our trip Mirbeau offers complimentary bikes. We hopped on the bikes and went around the grounds looking at the Fall foliage. A perfect way to end the trip. Spa Mirbeau is unique, classy, and a great place to stay for one or two nights. I recommend if you are looking for somewhere for a special occasion, or just a little getaway check it out. They also have some other locations as well.

I hope you enjoyed my first full spa and inn review. Hopefully many more to come in the future. This blog is a place to share spa's with you and as always reach out I would love to help you with any questions!
